not eligible for ALG???

I aplplied for ALG a few weeks ago and got my response back and supposedly i'm not able to get ALG because I already have obtained a level two or three qualification.

My qualifications are:

5.5 GCSE's (A*-C)
2 AS- Level (E)

Other students in my class have recieved ALG with similar qualifications e.g AS-levels.

can anybody help am I eligible or not?

I'm too sure if an AS level counts towards a full level 3, I know a A level is! but not too sure on AS, sure someone will come along to tell you

Are you over 25 by any chance?

I ask because under 25 year olds can get up to their first level three course free, while over 25s can only get up to a level two free.

I wouldn't have thought an AS counted as a level three tbh, especially at an 'E' grade.

If you're applying for a level 3 qualification then you should definitely be eligible. You need to have 2 FULL A levels (A2s) to count as a full level 3 qualification and AS don't count for this. You need to query this as someone has made a mistake.

If you're on IS you can't get ALG.
