I have bought some thermal lining fabric to line my curtains. I didn't notice in the shop but when I got home, the fabric is different on both sides - one side is like a canvas texture and the other has a slightly fluffy, moleskin texture. Anyone used this before and know which side should face the window and which the curtain. At a guess, I would say fluffy side towards the window but don't want to have to unpick all the header tape if this is wrong!
Thanks

I posted the same question on the quick question thread this morning, must be this chilly air around.
mine is white on one side and cream on the other.
So if anyone knows would be pleased to hear also0 -
I would also like to know the answer as I am attempting to line some large curtains.:)Do more of what makes you happy:)0

I think its fluffy side towards the curtain as the smoother side is the thermal coating so should face the outside/window to prevent cold getting in. The fluffy side will trap the heat and stop it getting out iyswim!JAN GC- £155.77 out of £200
FEB GC £197.31 out of £180:o. MARCH GC - out of £200

Yes, that's right, smoother side out, I doubt you'd notice much difference though.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

Has anyone got a recommendation as to the best place to buy this stuff?
I've had a good google but can't find it for less than £5 per metre. It's going on Ebay for about £2 per metre plus postage for large quantities - I need 28m.
Also, what's the difference between "1 pass" and "3 pass" lining?
Thanks in advance for your help!0 -
Have just found this on ebay site. Thought it may be useful.

The number of "Passes" relates to the number of UV protective and insulating coats applied to the base fabric. 2 -3 Pass linings give the same blackout performance, but the 3 Pass sandwiches the essential black coat, giving a solid pale colour to both sides of the lining.0 -

I got some ready made thermal linings to add to my curtains which are white one side and grey the other, I put the white to the outside and they are seen fromthe outside - they seem to work fine that way.
I got mine from T J Hughes, and they are also in some of the warehouse outlet shops.

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
I'm so confused now.
I bought some ready made thermal linings. The one side looks a bit greyish and feels like waterproof sheeting and the other cream colour side feels like linen sheeting. The ruffelette tape for the curtain hooks is on the greyish side.
Is it the greyish side that faces outwards towards the window? Or does the grey side face the back of the existing curtail and get hooked onto that?
The neighbour has been banging and drilling for 2 days and OH is cleaning the patio with a pressure hose.
My brain is currently like scrambled egg.
Help!!!!!
