  • I had exactly this problem when I did our bathroom. In the end we went with a flexible connector and it worked perfectly. We haven't noticed any disadvantages to the flexible connector and I think it was the least hassle option. I'm not sure if it would be the best solution in your case but a flexible connector will probably give you more options.

This is something of a bodge, the pan has a so-called 'P' trap, whereas the soil pipe is designed for a pan with an 'S' trap. I don't know whether you can get close coupled with an 'S' trap, but that would be the solution, I think
After the uprising of the 17th June The Secretary of the Writers Union
Had leaflets distributed in the Stalinallee Stating that the people
Had forfeited the confidence of the government And could win it back only
By redoubled efforts. Would it not be easier In that case for the government
    To dissolve the people
    And elect another?

from a bathroom fitters point of view

flexis are easy and require little or no attention to detail, there ideal for your situation(btw) as you can attach to pan then push pan in place

but i have found that there reduce the speed that the water flows away

if you choose not to use a flexi there will be a pan connector that will do the job, you would simply have to get a multiquick brochure
