Hi, We are going to spain next week and have a 12 month old baby.
As our flight is 7am in the morning, we would like to give him a bottle of milk as we are taking off which should send him off to sleep.
Are you allowed to take a 9oz bottle of milk thru customs and onto the plane?
cheers

Baby milk is exempt from the usual restrictions but they will make you taste it as you go through immigration.0

You are only allowed to take as much as you need for the flight and as naranja says you will have to taste it as you go through security:j Debt free since 31/01/08:j

Here is the FAQ page about security from British Airport Authority (BAA), whichcovers your question :
http://www.baa.com/portal/controller/dispatcher.jsp?CiID=9fc70f54a52e9110VgnVCM10000036821c0a____&ChID=5dc48d620e2c9110VgnVCM10000036821c0a____&Ct=B2C_CT_GENERAL&CtID=448c6a4c7f1b0010VgnVCM200000357e120a____&ChPath=Home%5EGatwick%5EGeneral%5EAirport+information%5ESecurity+control%5EFAQs#10
Hope this helps.
Edit: I thought the link would be a lot shorter!I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
We travelled with a baby in May, and I decided it was easier to take an empty bottle through and buy cartons of milk and jars of food from Boots airside.Here I go again on my own....0

Yes, because the immigration officer wants to make sure the bottle of milk is not trying to get in without a passport. :rotfl:
(sorry.
)
Just to be really pedantic:-
You don't go through customs to board the aircraft and you only go through IMmigration when you enter a country.
It is the airport's security staff who will check the baby's milk.0 -
