The winner and a friend will spend three nights in a double or twin room in the four-star Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel. An Irish breakfast will be available each morning to supply some fuel for the busy day ahead. Or relaxing day ahead. It's up to you. Kilkenny's got it all, whether you're after an action-packed adventure (taking in a spot of karting, for example) or a leisurely sojourn (where a spa visit might be in order).
The gastronomic treats don't end there. An evening meal for two (including a bottle of wine) in the luxurious Langtons restaurant is also part of the prize, as is afternoon tea at the equally gorgeous Mount Juliet Estate in Thomastown. (It boasts a golf course, in case you fancy squeezing in a quick round while you're there.)
If you win, you'll no doubt want to go off and explore the area (taking advantage of the free car hire in the process). One great place to visit is the home of the world-famous Waterford Crystal. No need to get your wallet out there either - a free guided tour is on the prize-winner's itinerary.
And that's not all. A payment of £150 will also be wending its way to the lucky person whose name is drawn out of the hat to cover a tank full of fuel and various other car-related expenses (see below for the full terms and conditions).
. One winner will receive the following prize ("the Prize") which shall be provided and/or arranged by Tourism Ireland: a three-night holiday at the four-star Kilkenny Ormonde hotel in Kilkenny City for two people, sharing a double or twin room. The prize includes return air travel up to a total value of £175 for economy class flights from any UK airport to Dublin including one checked bag per person, check-in fees, priority boarding and seat allocation. An Irish breakfast each morning, dinner one evening at Langtons up to a value of 150 euros and including one bottle of house wine, afternoon tea at Mount Juliet in Thomastown, Kilkenny and a guided tour of Waterford Crystal in Waterford City are also included in the Prize.
10. The Prize also includes car hire from Budget car rental group of a Toyota Corolla or similar vehicle for four days, to be collected from and returned to Dublin airport. Collision damage reduction (excess 900 euros), unlimited mileage, theft protection insurance, airport surcharge, breakdown cover and VAT are included. Drivers must hold a valid licence and be between the ages of 25-75. Petrol, tyre damage and loss of keys are not covered. A deposit of 75 euros will be taken by cash or credit card on collection of the car and will be returned if the car is returned full of petrol and in satisfactory condition in accordance with Budget's standard hire terms. The winner will also receive £150 to cover one tank of fuel, four days excess waiver and four days additional driver premium.
11. Transfers, travel insurance, meals, living expenses and any other costs not specifically included in the Prize (as detailed in paragraphs 9 and 10 above) are the responsibility of the winner. Tourism Ireland accepts no responsibility for any costs associated with the Prize and not specifically included in the Prize, including, without limitation, meals, living expenses, insurance and transfers.
12. The Prize must be redeemed between October 20 2008 and March 31 2009 and is subject to availability. The Prize is not valid over any bank holidays or on or over the following dates: November 15 2008, November 22 2008, February 7 2009, February 28 2009 and March 17 2009, or between December 23 2008 and January 2 2009. Tickets and vouchers and a confirmed itinerary will be sent by Tourism Ireland to the winner two weeks before the proposed departure date.
