Customer Compliance Officer visit

I've just had a letter from the job centre informing me of a home visit regarding a query with my claim.

Now... I've been out of work and looking for a long time after breaking my leg and being on crutches for several months. I've decided to go to uni as a mature student and am due to start at the end of this month, so I have applied for a student loan etc.

However, I'm still looking for work and will be when I start uni, but I was planning to inform them next week (on my sign on date) that I will be signing off as I know I can't sign on at uni.

This letter is also stamped and addressed from the job centre right near the uni I'm going to rather than the job centre where I sign on.

Could this letter be a query regarding that? Because I've applied for student finance? :(

Out of my mind. Back in five minutes.

  • Think it's highly unlikely that Student Loans & the University would give your personal details to the JC unless they're specifically asked. Nor would they give the JC long lists of new student details, there's too many data protection considerations for that. Maybe the Compliance officers are simply based at the JC near the University & wish to see you about something else, could be as innocuous as that. Phone them to find out.
