Why Are Rightmove Rental Property Details So Poor?

Some of them just have one sentence and an external picture. Is it because rental property goes a lot more quickly then property for sale and the EA doesn't think it worth putting more info? Or is there another reason?
Also, why do hardly any of them put the rental period (12 months, 6 months etc)?

  • I don't know, but I find them to be much better in London - usually more internal photos, details and I've even seen a couple with a floorplan!! it is such a waste of time when you have to call them up for the most minor details.

I find they're sh1te. Another annoying thing is they don't categorise them properly, so if you're looking for the cheapest property you have to plough through all the shared houses and work out if it's a room in a shared house or some similar arrangement.

Maybe LAs are just !!!!!! at what they do. They've got the "build it and they will come" attitude to running a business.

Just thought of another question. If the LA advises a property involves a 12 month rent then how likely is it that they would consider negotiating down to 6 when discussing whether to rent it or not?

Suspect that would be on how desperate they are and how long it has been void.

I suspect in todays climate they might consider it but it would depend on the supply and demand for rentals in that area.

    Laziness and incompetence.
  • LA’s don’t need to pad out their property info as on the whole tenants simply don’t demand anything other than sparse information. Rented property also lets far quicker than residential sales, so the turnaround doesn’t make doing full details worthwhile.

When I advertise my places I have approx 5lines of text briefly describing all the vital info.

Followed by alot more detailer further below, I've had this text for ages which I've updated over the years.

Those interested in reading/knowing more will scroll down... not to mention saving me the hassle of repeating the same information dozens of times down the phone.
