Banks that offer a 16-year-old a Maestro Card

Hi,

I'm going to turn 16 in a few weeks time.

I would like to know which banks currently offer a current account with a Maestro Card for 16 year olds. My bank account would have regular activity and I would not require, nor need any sort of overdraft.

    I know the Yorkshire Bank Readycash account is for 16 and above. That has the required card.

    NatWest and HSBC offer Solo cards. Lloyds TSB offer a Visa debit card. Don't worry no banks allow you to go into debt until your 18. I don't know any which offer a Maestro card but hey if you can have an account with Lloyds TSB and get a visa then all the better.

    No, to under 18s they only offer Solo.

    (Disclaimer: there may be some exceptions to this but the OP would probably need to have a LOT of money to get around it, or be VERY important)

    Funny.. cos i had a switch card at 16 with natwest, many moons ago.
    edit: just checked.. Solo only
