what else do you offer to teaching?
Do all teachers or assistants have to be able to type these days?
I am sure the future employers will judge the suitability of the OP - not the self appointed holier than though brigade on here.0 -

In her first post the OP states that she has already been offered the position so I assume they aren't THAT worried about her spelling!
I don't think that pointing out a potential TA's spelling mistakes makes anyone part of the 'holier than thou brigade' – they are probably just expressing surprise (shock?) that a TA is not required to be able to spell.
Personally I wouldn't want someone who couldn't spell teaching my children English, but perhaps the OP's role as a TA does not involve that?!
If I don't respond to your posts, it's probably because you're on my 'Ignore' list.0 -
I didn't think you could get A *s in A Levels.0

Frankly I think in the modern day education system teaching assistants and anyone else at any level of education must posess simple literacy and PC skills since these are vital to suceed in modern day society and are likely to become more so
Whilst I sympathise regarding your dyslexia I do not think its appropiate that any school child should be subjected to such sub standard teaching staff simply for PC society to come through
We no longer live in the dark ages where many people fail to read or write and that is because of proper teaching
possess;) Are you a TA?0 -

Couldn't agree more.
And I am so tired of the 'I am dyslexic' claim. I am sure some on MSE are - but certainly not all. Some just cannot spell.0 -

You can't. Although you will be able to soon.
An old school friend of mine was a PE teacher for many years. Then she changed to teaching literacy. Her spelling, grammar and punctuation are really not great, so it shocked me that she'd be considered suitable to teach this subject.
If that happens with qualified teachers, it's no surprise that TAs aren't required to have good written English.0 -

Perhaps it doesn't.
But then no-one seems to be bothered about this.0 -
