I went into Argos today to buy myself a new home phone, I have been struggling with a cordless one for several months and I hate it. I decided that I needed one with big buttons, a largish screen and an answer machine. Well I went into the store this morning and tried to find it in their catalogue and then tried to fill in the slip but I just couldnt read the slip because it was too small.
I went and stood in the queue for customer service - I was there for a good 15 minutes whilst they dealt with another customer (she was a bit slow and didnt understand much), the assistant was very patient with her. Eventually, it was my turn and I explained what I needed and I could pay using a mixture of vouchers and my credit card. The assistant firstly apologised for keeping me waiting, sorted out the paperwork for the phone and then went on to explain to me how it all worked. She gave me a collection slip and said that there would be a 5 minute wait - well no sooner had I sat down then I was up again as they had retrieved the phone from their stock room. This time, a different assistant told me all about the phone and how to set it up.
I have never used Argos before and if their service is as good as this all the time then I might just use them again.
My phone is now plugged in and raring to go - I have even added telephone numbers to the phonebook something that I couldn't do with the old phone.
At no time was I made to feel like an idiot because my impairment prevented me from completing their order slips.
Fantastic service - thank you Argos.:j
