My son left his ipod shuffle in his jeans pocket and it went through the wash. After much panicking we put it in the airing cupboard for a couple of days and it recovered. Not sure if this wasn't just luck, as I don't think it's to be recommended!somewhere between Heaven and Woolworth's0

I would be very suprised if you could resurrect it, my advice would be to just leave it to dry naturally the heat of the hairdryer wont help. You also have the trauma of being thown against a steel drum for half an hour."Well, that sounds like a pretty good deal. But I think I got a better one. How about I give you the finger, and you give me my phone call"

Seems to happen a lot on these forums! The advice applies generally. Don't switch it on, disassemble as much as possible, leave it partially wrapped in paper / surrounded by rice or dessicant, somewhere warm, try it in a fortnight.
There is definately hope!Russia is HERE0 -
Very much depends on which iPod it is - if it is one of the flash memory types (Shuffle, Nano) then leaving it to dry naturally for a week or so (in an airing cupboard) might allow it to come back to life after a recharge; however, one of the hard drive based models (any of the 'Classic' iPods) will take rather longer to dry and I'd be rather pessimistic about any recovery at all.
A quick Google search came up with this: http://www.tech-faq.com/repair-wet-ipod.shtml and this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NEl0i-C4ueM

pennyocs, in that case take a look at the YouTube video in the second link - that is a Nano so what they chap in the vid suggests is certainly worth a try - a tip; have a cup of rice handy!
