The HPV vaccine protects against cervical cancer in over 70% of women. The HPV vaccine does not protect against ALL cervical cancers.

my mum was diagnosed in april with cervical cancer, has had mega radical surgery and was rather ill, thankfully shes had the all clear (so far) and although is still unable to do much after the surgery has a better outlook, hers was NOT hpv.
was interesting hearing the surgeon saying that by the age of 50 most women will have been in contact with the hpv, and that even 80yro women are being diagnosed with hpv,even though not been sexually active.for years,

It's kinda funny (not a ha ha way but a spooky way). Due a smear and keep putting if off, but these kind of things keep popping up to remind me! I will get round to it...one day...
