Gas charges laws???

I have started a thread entitled GAS BILL HEADACHE, in which you will see the dilemma with which I have been faced with over the last 2 yrs with Eon for gas and electric, notbritishgas has kindly replied and answered alot of my queries(thanks!!), he/she has suggested someone else may know the legalities/ criteria that have to be met with regards to the only paying 1 yrs worth of gas if you havent had a meter reading taken by your supplier despite letting them know you are awiting a bill. Any help and comments regarding this and my other thread would be greatly appreciated!!!
