I am registered disabled with my local council and SS. I was given my reg number 3 years ago.

which only goes to prove the point that SOME LA still have a register but MOST dont as has been said already theres no legal requirement for them to do so.I would add that in many cases proof of receipt of DLA/AA is enough to prove disability when asked to do so0 -
I was (and still am) given a lot of help through the 'Access to Work' scheme from Jobcentre Plus. Details here:

My LA does not hold a register,so when i applied for a blue badge for the car I just gave them the details of my medical condition & that was enough.I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0
