I have tried many of the free trials, avg is one of the better ones as it doesnt tend to bother you much, but I did find I had to re install many of my programmes in order to use electronic things such as my phone, my camera, my mp3 player.... they all worked when I deleted the original and reinstalled a new version via the original CD.
Onecare was good as it worked seamlessly with the windows vista I had and so was very smooth and easy to follow. But it was a free trial and ran out some time ago.
Norton symmantic was also another good one, I did the free trial but I do have to say, daily I got a message "your trial is nearly over" like every day for 90 days. Very irritating.
avast was not so good for me, it made it very very difficult for me to download any software, it could just be me being untechnical - I know next to nothing about how computers work! but I ended the avast and found something new within a month as it made things very much slower and made new software near impossible to use!
Hope that helps0 -
