I've got AVG on desktop and laptop (2 desktops and 3 laptops!) - hasn't let me down yet!
Interestingly, someone asked me to sort out a laptop that had Nortons 360 (I think that was the one) on it but still had a virus, I downloaded AVG onto a disc, took off Norton's (yes - all of it!) and loaded AVG, it captured the virus in no time flat! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
i too have AVG very pleased highly recommend it! its on my desktop and laptop too!:starmod::starmod::starmod::starmod::starmod::starmod::starmod::starmod::starmod::starmod:0

I also use avast and love it. They have a free antivirus, plus a free virus cleaner to download and run if you think your computer's already infected.

I use AVG 8.0 from filehippo.com
Don't forget a firewall and a couple of antispyware/malware progs.
CCleaner is good for getting rid of some unused files0 -
I too have avast and also spycleaner never had any major problems, and updates regular.
