seems strange that its doing it all the time
Do you use this to update things?

Have you scanned your system for malware/adware etc. Seems its downloading but not applying the fixes. When you switch the machine off, the update is lost and then when you switch it on it sees you need to fix it.
Someone may be able to advise how to disable office updates, I dont know because I havent used office since version 2000 (openoffice.org does the same but without the price tag!!)"Well, that sounds like a pretty good deal. But I think I got a better one. How about I give you the finger, and you give me my phone call"

I wasnt saying it was definatley that, just strange that its kind of trying to install but without sucess, the link I gave you will look at your OS and recommend updates for you to install (without relying on Automatic updates) that Auto Update dont pick up, and there may be a fix for it there."Well, that sounds like a pretty good deal. But I think I got a better one. How about I give you the finger, and you give me my phone call"

I have same problem and have been referred to this thread. I'd obviously like to go for the quickest easiest fix route if possible, but can I be sure that all the downloadable fixes are safe on the above links?
I often wonder when there are links offered to clean registry etc. whether they are safe. Is there any sure fire way of knowing?

Those links take you to other forums (which are fine) and the solution in those forum links are totally safe as they are just for microsoft. Go for it there fine. plus your security should pick up on any dodgy stuff anyway."Well, that sounds like a pretty good deal. But I think I got a better one.
