Wrong - I'm sure the first kid on the bus or the last kid off would be in a similar situation - if your kid was in this situation would you moan about that too?0 -

YOU'RE wrong. If an 'incident' were to happen or be suspected, with a bus carrying other kids, there are multiple people who could always affirm the first and last time any child was first and last seen and what condition they appeared to be in. A driver of a bus with multiple stops would have much greater difficulty changing route unroutinely. Some of these consideratiosn apply also to taxis where they carry not just a lone little child. Also, school busses are much more visible and noticeable than taxis which much more easily blend into the background on the road whether driving or stopped.0 -
OMG you are such a paranoid parent - I feel so sorry for your kid (or 'the child' as you call it)
why don't you just teach 'the child' at home - that way it won't be exposed to all those perverted taxi drivers out there0 -
How old is the child in question here?
Personally i would transport the child to and from school myself in this situation. Given the fears you have continually highlighted i doubt you would feel comfortable having your child transported by any other means. From reading this thread my opinion would be that my own peace of mind would be more important that what the councils legal obligation should entail.
Have you considered, as another poster earlier suggested, appealing the decision against your child's admission to a closer school. Maybe you should focus your immediate attention of this issue because if successful the transport issue would no longer be relevant.:starmod:C'est la vie:starmod:0 -
This thread has got to be a wind up .
Why bother posting on here if you are not prepared to give any facts and then argue with every one who either request more information or disagrees with your interpretation of the situation ...
Smells like a troll to me ...0 -
Dont chuck any more scraps to this troll people, leave him alone with his axe to grind with the council :rolleyes:0

IF this is not a wind-up I think the parent should either take the child to school themselves, or appeal for them to have a nearer school where they don't need to have a taxi.
Whatever the Council's obligations, if she is not going to trust a CRB checked taxi driver, why should she trust a CRB checked escort? They might be conspiring together!
Is there any reason (serious question) why she can't go in the taxi herself with the child?(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -

The occassional !!!!-up or unpreferred sitaution be its nature would very likely be random or unforseen and not allow anyone else whether driver, curbcrawler or sinister person to plan something untoward by noting a daily routine of lone little child in a cab.
How old was the child in your village who rode in a taxi for a year? Probably not very young if the child had already had the experience of beign transported.
Having a single child on their own in a coach is'nt that random, a coach driver would know that there is a likely hood of there only being 1 child on the coach on the first and last day of term. First day of term, the coach picked up 3 girls yr1 and yr4, out of a possible 12. So he would have known there would in all likely hood be 3 on the return journey.
What makes you think all attacks on children are planned? I would imagine a lot are'nt.
Yes you're right, the child in question was in Yr 5. But I have known of 4yr/5yr olds go to school in a taxi on their own, in fact one of my daughters friends did, still does, she's in yr 1 now.0 -
I am not a troll and if anyone cannot handle the legitimate exchange of opinions why not just avoid reading instead of shutting down the thread. Whether or not the thread is shut down I will take action against the council and report back to everyone so that anyone in a similar sitaution can benefit.
Some of you misconstrue my words and some others jsut want me to settle for something the Council offers even though it is not suitable. Others have raised a conjecture scenario that wasn't offered by the Council and say that I would oppose it anyway.
However much resolving or fighting this will cost the Council I will do what is best for my child and I will not forgive the Council of its legal obligatiosn to provide a suitable and acceptable service that most parents do/would feel comfortable using. Shut down the thread if you like but you won't silence me or stop me as I do this on behalf of all children and parents who may be vulnerable to the selfishness or maladministration of their Council.0 -
you seem to be ignoring questions.....
How old is 'the child' ?0
