Worth to get out of Eon EnergyOnline Extra Saver 8 NOW?
Hi, I'm just wondering Martin says that if you're on Eon EnergyOnline Extra Saver 8 the prices haven't gone up yet so you should switch. I am on this tariff at the moment, however with the 14% discount on this product, it still works out cheaper than the capped rates even if the prices rise by 25%.
So what's the best thing to do now? In the next price rise, this tariff would still be the cheapest compared to the capped products, by about £100. But then if there was a 2nd price rise before Nov 2009, it would be more expensive. Should I wait for the price rise then see if there are any other capped rates around then to switch to rather than doing it now where I will lose it at the moment? Or will the capped products be a lot more expensive after the next rise?
At the moment I'm paying £820 a year with the Extra Saver 8 which Eon tells me is expected to rise to £1000 in the next price rise. But the Fixed Price 2 they have would be £1081 annually and the Eon Price Protection 18 is £1109 per year. The only other cheaper plan I've found is Scottish Power Fixed Price Dec 2009 but even this is around £1100.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
