Morning all, just wanted to say thanks to everyone for your kind words about my daughter (& her lurgy)

Spoke to her Senior house tutor yesterday & gave him a piece of my mind. He said he had taken the route of speaking to her about it because she's in year 11 (aged 15) & very mature & he felt it was the quickest & easiest way to deal with it (Hmm) I did point out to him that a 2 minute phone call to me would have achieved the same thing! She might seem mature but underneath she's still a little girl.

Anyhow the problem we are left with is that the girls at school are still being horrible to her & refusing to sit with her in lessons etc. (one even asked the teacher in Science lesson if it was OK to sit with her!) Kids are so cruel, particularly teenage girls. My standard response when girls are being nasty is to tell her to ignore it & they'll move on to someone else but she's already saying she doesn't wan to go to school on Monday. What to do??
Thanks to all who post comps :A :T

Rach give her some money to use the call box at school to ring u if it gets too much? or maybe meet her for lunch so she has your support and only has to get through the morning then knows she will have a break from it all by meeting u, it will make afternoon go quicker too xxx
poor girl, girls can be so nasty and bi@tchy, These girls are old enough to realise if there was a risk she wouldnt be at school, so hopefully they will give up on taking the mick, but your dd has to ride this out.
xxx Maybe an incentive if she gets through the day? xxxx much luck and hugs xxx

Thanks Toni that's a good idea, we live only 5 mins from school so she can come home for lunch. I'll make something special. Incentive idea is great too. Think I've still got some bits & bobs from the glamour comp put away for a rainy day such as this.

Girls are horrible at this age when they all get together like this. I'm hoping the teachers will keep a close eye & point out to anyone who comments how childish they're being. DD is worried if anything is done it will just make them worse so ignoring it is definitely the best policy. Maybe with the weekend they'll have moved on a bit by Monday. (Here's hoping)

Ive taught teens with varying educational difficulties, and i always said ignoring is the best approach, also the imagine them in there dads undies whilst they say there crud takes the edge out of their taunts, if she has soomething good to see her through the day like an incentive she might just find it easier to cope xxx good luck xxx if she does come home at luchu have to make it clear that say this week its only certain days then following wek less days otherwise she will never ease back into school life! xxxx
Laura i really hope all went well for dh yesterday xx
