I do agree with you, at times we do need to make a stand, but some people are just not worth rowing with. If it came to it I would tell her how it is and thats the end of it.

I think i have the im not worthy of your son syndrome.........paul had a really good career in holland and was on about 75k + then he met me , we both fell madly deeply for each other, he moved back permenantly to blighty and took the first secure job he could find, which pays just over 45k, his mum went skits as she thought he was mad, me being a single mum didnt help, it made it worse when paul wanted me to and i agreed to give up work ( college special needs tutoring) after all our baby losses , she seems to want to live her life through paul, what added to the stress was pauls wife had left him a year before and took their baby with her, when she found out he was with me she wanted him back, obviously he stayed with me and she has never let him see his boy because of that and his mum blames me for this, though she sees her grandson constantly, if paul had left and gone back to her, i would have put it down to experience but like he said he followed his heart and stayed xxxx wow.lol........its never easy is it! xxxx

Hey Toni, sorry to chime in uninvited .. Just want to say keep your chin up and ignore her, she may be only too possessive, or too ignorant to know any better! Sometimes it is just a waste of breath trying to confront stubborn people, you don't have to justify yourself to anyone anyway, and if she has any issues absorbing how her son loves you, then it is her problem and she can take her time trying to make sense of it, and so can his ex!

You sound like a level-headed person, so remember that you have everything to be proud of. Like you, my partner and I are different: I am a foreigner and he is English. I think this makes your relationship absolutely unique and more fun xx
