Yep got my email about an hour ago and it has certainly got a lot slower since then. Oh well.

What is going on with the weather? It's going from brilliant blue sky with no clouds to dark and dismal with torrential rain every half an hour or so. How am I supposed to get washing dry or my Maple tree planted??!! Rubbish! :):)

  • Afternoon all, According to the Kinder leaflet (rather than the leaflet that came with the tree) you're supposed to keep the tree in a pot indoors on a warm windowsill for a while anyway, so you could pot it indoors (unless the soil mess would be a problem). My tree's all potted up and keeping me company right now. :D

Fancy another fab freebie? There's a new Chanel No.5 sample on the Freebies board:

No me neither, no idea what I'm doing! We had the patio done and built a new shed, but the garden itself is a mess. My days off never seem to coincide with nice weather.

Edit: What leaflet Happy Shopper? The only instructions I got were in the tube with the tree. Oh and thanks for the heads up on the freebie!

Thanks for that Happy Shopper :D

My computer is running slower than a tortoise today and my thanks button pressing isn't going down to well either! Grrrrr ... on a plus side I have discovered the joys of Outlook and although the postman didn't being me any prizes, he didn't bring me any nasty letters either :p

    *Runs off to find leaflet*

    ...

It's a green fold-out leaflet which says 'The Kinder Garden Project in association with the Woodland Trust' on the front. (I read someone reporting that theirs was hidden under one of the box-flaps, so maybe check the box if you can't find it.) Here's the info you need for now (I hope it's ok to copy it out as there's no weblink for it - I'm doing it for the good of the little trees ;) ):

    - When your sapling arrives, place it on a window sill so it can get lots of light. [I guess you're supposed to pot it up first.]

    - Each week, you and your child(ren) should give the sapling a good drink of water so it doesn't get too parched. But don't let it sit in the water as this will make the tree unhappy.

    - It's also a good idea to ensure that its not too draughty or cold by the window sill or your sapling might catch a chill. Together, you and your child(ren) may want to check all the window sills in the house to find the perfect home for your sapling.

    - When March arrives, your sapling will need to be transferred from its pot to the garden. [It then goes on to describe how to plant it outside.]

    HTH. :)
