scottish power refused to honour contract

I have spoken to scottish power and their sales dept confirms they should never have sold me dual fuel as they are unable to provide 2 different rates on/off peak with 2 meters. Annoying but I will complain.

new problem: I assumed stupidly that not having electric meant that I wouldn't be changing gas. However I have got a letter saying the gas gets changed over on the 16th. I rang and they confirmed this on a standard rate of 3.531 and a standing charge of 10.49 per day. I explained i only changed to them for a capped rate but they are unable to do this for gas only. I explained that i did not want a standard rate - no-one had informed me in the cooling off period that the rate would not be what i signed for. they can do nothing until it switchs over - i cannot even speak to their accounts dept as i don't have an account!!!!! I intend calling complaints tomorrow when they are open and putting it in writing - they actually suggested i just change to another company to solve the problem!!!:mad: Legally - I feel that I signed for a dual rate capped rate for electricity and gas - if they decide that this agreement is not possible can they just decide to take the gas at whatever rate they fancy? It feels like that to me.......

What they should do, because the sales agent mis-sold you onto a product that they, knowingly or un-knowingly, can't actually supply you with, is return your supply to the previous supplier as an erroneous transfer which means that you won't be charged by SPow and you'll just continue with your previous supplier.

Unfortunately, this is the problem with sales agents that aren't aware of dual MPAN sites and RHT meters etc. which are setups that require special tariffs etc. in order to be correctly billed.
