George Best Airport - Make-up hand luggage question

George Best airport are the strictest airport I have been to.

I have accidentally left lipgloss in the bottom of a bag coming through glasgow and stanstead and it was never flagged up but coming home through belfast it was. It had slipped into the liner of my bag and i/we couldn't locate it for 15/20 minutes. ended up missing my flight for it too. cost me an extra over night stay in belfast and £50 to change my flight.

They are only doing their job so that is fine but as a warning they are realy on top of security there. Allow yourself extra time incase

Everytime I have been there had either my cosmetics tested in the machine, had body search or had a random search of bag.

I must have a neon sign above my head saying 'pick me!'

I fly to Birmingham a lot and they hand the bags out for free too but for some reason you have to buy them at both Belfast airports.

I fly through Stansted a lot and ALWAYS lift about 100 of the free bags and leave them in Belfast City Airport near the security queue bit... just my little random act of rebellion! So if you ever see them, be sure to take one and save yourself £1. Total rip-off!

i pick up the bags and use them for my lunch bags - very MSE!

Superdrugs and boots and Im sure most other chemist chains are now selling wee plastic pouches with clear pots and bottles in to decant your full sizes into. If you fly regular and dont like to pay for hold luggage they are worth paying out for. A lot cheaper then the small 100mlssizes the companies have all bought out
