I'd have thought it clear it was nothing to do with Google, there are plenty of companies that offer freeware for a price. I haven't seen what you've signed up for but all the other sites I've seen don't actually sell the software, your contract with them is a club membership subscription in which they simply give you a link to the free software so since they aren't actually selling the software (because that's not what you're paying for) I doubt there's anything any company (including Google) can do about it.

I find it amazing people still buy stuff from spam.

If you paid by credit card, you may be able to get them to perform a charge-back so that you can get your money back

Good job the OP didn't get an email saying you can get a 12" dangler for $30 too.

    They don't work either:rolleyes:

and you can't get a refund!!
  • You could also find that you have signed up to an automatically renewing subscription so your card will be billed each year. This will be done via a CPA on your credit card which only the supplier can cancel. Contact your CC company and tell them the transaction is fraudulent (you have been conned) and want it cancelled (any any CPA that goes with it). They might be able to help.
  • You may want to remove the links in your cut and pasted email... :)
