Are oil-free electric radiators any good?

Plenty of subjective stuff . . . it is light . . . eco friendly . . . etc BUT do u get 50 percent more heat than from an oil-filled radiator? I can't see how through accepted themodynamic logic. This tends to raise the question, are the claims, for oil free radiators, fraudulent?0

No. It's 50% more heat in half the time of an oil filled radiator, in the warming up process.
In other words it heats up much quicker than an oil filled radiator. You will not save energy or money.0 -
Remember that oil filled are safer.
With non oil heaters the element is open to the air flow and dust can accumulate on/near it causing a fire risk or people can cover the top with clothing
Oil ones can't over heat0 -
the problem with oil free radiators - ie the electric ones - is that they dry the air much more than oil radiators. so i think they are worse for health0

well i'm rather intrigued as to which is better! and maybe things have changed since 3 years ago..0 -
I think an electric heater is still more expensive to run than a gas fired radiator.0

Are oil-filled radiators silent?
I know it's difficult to actually guarantee totally silent, but are they less likely to make noises associated with electric panel heaters?
I bought a wall mounted panel heater that had the element 'tinking' inside and the casing 'clicking' presumably whilst the metal heated. very annoying for my bedroom, which is why I’m hoping an oil filled would be more or less silent...
Does anyone have a silent model they can recommend?0
