Saturday 06/09/08 What small DFW things will you do today????

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Hi to any new posters and a big shout to the usual gang.:hello:
Am posting this early today as i am going out in a few minutes!!
My dfw things for today are:
-Will use rail card to get cheap travel
-Will use bus as it works out cheaper than taking my car
-Will do five mystery shops
-Will come home and write up reports
-Will take some food from home so i am less enclined to waste money whilst i am out
-I'll do some surveys later
-I'll sort through my emails
-I'll continue working on my website
-Will look for more mystery shops
-Will read some of my counselling books
-Will apply for some one or few day courses, including a car maintenance course, which i have always been interested in doing;)
-Will work out my finances in relation to what my partner owes me
-Will organise my diary to see where i have some free time
-I'll start cleaning the house ready for my mum coming
-I will do my weekly review
-I will decide on first level of advertising
-I'll put some financial papers away
-I'll look for my cheque that i can't find!! - STILL CAN'T FIND IT, FOUND EVERYTHING ELSE!!
-Tidy my bedroom
Think thats it for me, have a great start to the weekend everyone:D

morning all
well very bad yesterday... got my lenor from asda but somehow managed to spend £25... . how did that happen??? mostly on tins, baking stuff and cat food though so wasn't totally silly as didn't get tempted by bakery section or anything like that!
so... today's plans are:
- ate old shredded wheat for brekkie - not nice but didn't want to bin it!
- lodger has organised a mate to fix roof (they have gone out for breakfast so hope they won't be too long...)
- !!!!! cats are still eating go-cat rather than expensive pouches.
- will get OH to help me tip the soapy disinfectant water out of the wheely bin and down the drain at the end of the road - maggots are dead but it still smells!
- lunch hm bread toasted with marmite
- dinner will be lasagne made from reduced mince from asda and lodgers cheese and mushrooms
- pudding will be left over bread and butter pudding from last night
- going out in car this afternoon but going to discount warehouse and food co-operative so should end up saving over the month as a whole :T
think that is about it for today....
hope everyone has a good day!
loki x
:grouphug: hugs to sophiesmum :grouphug:it's nice to be important but more important to be nice!! :kisses3:0 -

Today I'm going to have to minimise spending by  with friends in Central London:
So I'm taking the DLR to Bank then doing a 30 minute walk.
Going to pubs with Happy hours
Lunch will be a stir fry of leftovers (very nice leftovers but enough for OH and I)
Try not to have too much to drink.
Only take £30 with me and no cards to be extra good
Will look for good Quidco deals.
Start playing with my new accounts to get the interest rate kicking
Pay off £400 off my credit (this might be delayed till monday but I don't know yet...)
:j :j :j :j :j :j:beer: Debt Free since July 2011 and it feels good!
Now it's all about finding a deposit for a house!
How do you amass £70k in a year?! :eek:0
