Which festival hosted the first silent disco?
Glastonbury
Everyone loves a silent disco – we’re not quite sure why dancing like a loon in public to music only you can hear holds such appeal, but nonetheless they’re all the rage. It all started several years ago in a field at Glastonbury festival, and since then silent shindigs have been held everywhere from the South Bank to Liverpool Street station. The latest offbeat venue to be commandeered for this craze is The Royal Courts of Justice, where the Fun Lovin’ Criminals will play a silent gig on September 10.
Revellers will listen to the band through wireless earphones, the drummer will be in a soundproofed box and guitars and vocals will not be audible to the crowd. Intrigued? Well, you’re in luck – we have ten pairs of tickets to give away to this one-off event.
G'luck!
