I have a Windows Vista laptop & an Apple Mac ibook both running wirelessly using an Apple Airport Extreme.
However, originally, I had a Windows XP Desktop & the Apple Mac ibook running wirelessly using the same set up as above, except I was using a Belkin USB Wireless Adapter to connect the PC to the internet wirelessly via the Airport Extreme.
The Desktop has been disconnected from the net for a while now, but I need it up and running again.
I re-installed the Belkin and inputted the hex key ect ect.. Now even tho' I'm getting a great signal and the blue light (on the toolbar) is on, the ariel is not picking up the signal so I'm not connected to the internet.
I'm completely lost with it & been messing about for well over 3 hrs now.
Please help......

did you install the software BEFORE plugging the Wirless dongle/adaptor in? because thats what you should do!!
Uninstall the software for the dongle and start again. Software first then plug the USB dongle in."Well, that sounds like a pretty good deal. But I think I got a better one. How about I give you the finger, and you give me my phone call"

I have found USB Belkin wireless to be very bad. I lose connection very often and takes a while to get it back.
I would get an internal network card if I were you.0 -

I initially uninstalled the software and went into the registry and cleaned that out. I re-installed the software & plugged the dongle in when told. I must have carried out this routine 5 times, still no joy.0 -

yes, was thinking of that. Just wanted it setting up, as my laptop is going away for repair on Monday & I won't get it back for 10 days.0 -

have you checked belkins website there may be more upto date drivers/software for it (especially if like mentioned above, they are flakey anyways)."Well, that sounds like a pretty good deal. But I think I got a better one. How about I give you the finger, and you give me my phone call"

I will check, but obviously I'd have to find a way to download em onto the PC, since it can't connect to the net.0
