If I transfer a balance onto Amex which will give me life of balance at 4.9% can I then tranfer some more onto it and still get the 4.9% for the total transfered amount?

So thats a Yes then?

Thats how I read it but wanted to make sure. I wondered if they might say "oh we meant Transfers as in singular not Transfers plural"

I don't think that this can be interpeted in differnt way. It is very clear:

Balance Transfers conducted within the initial 6 month period ...

For me the answer is clear: YES.
