Allowing neighbour to put scaffolding on my drive?

  • We recently built a 2 storey extension over our drive. Our builder said we'd need to use scaffoldng on the neighbours drive to make the job faster and safer, so we offered to build a wall at the front of the neighbours garden. Handily, she had previously enquired about this wall so everyone was happy, although she did try and blame some long standing cracks in the drive on us afterwards (she's in her 80's).
The answer seems to be to come to some mutually agreeable solution for lack of access to the garage.
Would this work for you too?

Well, they cant just not ask, if everyone had a NO attitude we would never get anywhere, give and take and all that

    As the quote
If we all said no , nothing would be built. The negative posting on this thread has really surprised me.
How did their houses ever get built, did they ever have any building works done
or do the fairy's come in and achieve perfection for them.

Whats wrong with the builders using the land of which they are building on?
why does it have to spilll over onto nextdoor or out on the public highway.
Either way the OP is dammed if they let them and damm if they dont

  • Make sure that you have a written agreement that any damage done to your driveway is reinstated to YOUR satisfaction. A relative of mine had his driveway damaged in a situation like this and although it was repaired it was a very shoddy job.
