I am looking for a newish small car, say a Seat Ibiza, Yaris or Suzuki Swift and maybe an older model C Class Mercedes.
I have been looking for a while, mainly Autotrader. I am amazed at the prices people ask for. The private seller is generally 10% above the recommended "book" price in parkers used car price web site. I know people should try for the best price but they seem to set the price unrealistically high. Even auction prices do not reach trade price recently.
When will they reqlise that there are tons of used cars in the market and keen nearly new/new prices at dealers.
I would not offer much above the trade price, so I guess I will wait a while longer.
What do you think about used car prices ?
