Council help with new boilers/heating

Hi all

I'm just in the middle of gathering quotes for a new boiler... having read some of the threads on here I was beginning to think I may not need one, but it is 30 years old, and one or 2 of the radiators are a bit screwed...

Anyway, I've seen an article from the Financial Mail a couple of weeks back about local councils offering grants to help people upgrade across to the newly required condensing boilers.

Anyone know anything about this?

Hi if you are on state benefits or low income you can get help from the Warm Front Grant Scheme. This is a central government scheme. If you are approve they would send out an assessor to look at your existing system and if they believe it needs replacing they will pay up to £2700. The only drawback is it can take up to 28 days to get an assessor round and then possibly 3-6 months wait for the installation. If your not desperate worth a try.
