Looked up mdmp file and it says its a file created when a program crashes (do you get a message asking you whether you want to send a error report to microsoft?). If its not this are you connected to the internet through broadband or dial up? , if you are connected through dial up it might be a email with a large attachment is taking a long time to download.
Also which ISP are you with ,some ISP's (e.g Tiscali & Orange) allow you to check your emails on there website (e.g on Tiscali go to their homepage ,click on email then it goes onto a web page with a orange box comes with tiscali members login in it, then type in your email address and your isp/email password into the relavent boxes and press login, then click on mail or new mails to display your recieved emails, when you have finished viewing your emails click on logout.0 -
