Wiper blades vs. refills only
Anyone who's used wiper refills (as opposed to buying the entire clip-on blades), have they worked well?
I bought a pair for just £2 from unipart, however they're smearing badly at a couple of places on both blades, one being in the direct line of vision.
Gave Bosch a call to ask whether they sell the rubber refills with the internal tensioning strip, sadly they only do the entire units "because it's easier for consumers" (and no doubt their profit margin).
Any particular refill brands recommended?

I know they are cheap but I got them Wilkos ones and they lasted me almost 12 months now and I sue them a lot as I use car for working on a evening 4 days a week
I had to use a proper brand for rear screen as it was too small for Wilkos ones but I found them fine. I do clean them every few weeks with a wipe though to remove any rubber0 -
A1 Motor stores do complete wiper blades for similar money, I know this is a money saving website but just replacing the rubber is like just replacing one brake pad at a time if the others are ok:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. Bad wiper blades can drive you totally mad.........I stick with Bosch and get goopd life out of them. I have tried the cheapies and hated them, if not the noise then smearing.0

Piaa do refills, and they're probably the most expensive wiper blades around. Not sure if they're designed to fit only their blades though.0

Thinking about it, I'm pretty sure I've had the Bosch ones on for about 2-3 years now without probs. This is what I've found:
Wilkinsons - £1.49 per blade (complete unit) - £6.93 delivered
WiperBlades.co.uk - Bosch Super Plus (complete unit) - £15.30 delivered
...........................Trupart Wiper refills - £4.90 delivered
TiTheRev - the Aero blades are showing around £25 delivered - where did you get them for £12? Sadly no A1 stores nearby if that's the place.
Checked out Piaa but they seem quite expensive unless I've missed the refills
Probably best to go for the Bosch again, seems rubber refills are a false economy if they don't last as long and risk not working as well in the first place...0 -

PIAA super silicone wipers are awesome. Yes they are on the expnsive side but they do a hell of a job. I have had mine for just over a year and they are still streak free!"He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,
He will kill your cat and nail him to the door"

But even at retail (from a dealership) they are about £11 each individually, or £18 for a pair.:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things.
