First post so be kind

Hello everyone.
Just 65k in debt and recently started a debt management plan which if everyone plays ball will take 13 years to sort. Have made the first payment of this although some debts haven't replied and some have rejected my offer.
Sent a template letter to egg credit card on 29/08/08 asking for details of my account including any charges and a copy of my signature on the terms and conditions. Owe them £7,200 and am about £400 in arrears.
Receaved a letter today advicing me because I hadn't responded to a default letter that the account was terminated and a debt collecter would be intouch within 10 days chasing payment.
Think that's enough background though I should add I have had no written contact from egg and certainly no default notice. Have add a few phone calls.
Question - Is the termination of my account valid just on their word they sent a default notice and how does this affect my request for information under data protection. Not to put too fine a point on it my attempt to test if the agreement is enforcable? What should my next move be?
Any advice welcome.
Paul

Unfortunately I don't have any advice on your situation other than it may be worth reposting this in the 'Debt-Free Wannabe' forum as you're much more likely to get responses there from people who are either currently going through exactly the same as you or have been through it previously.

You can get to that forum by following this link:
