debt problems ruining my life

Just read through the thread, and personally I feel as if (although I would normally say the exact opposite!) your solution is not in selling the house, as your problem revolves around the fact that you do not have a full time job rather than around huge debts (ok I know they are just going to get bigger and bigger but still).
If I were you I would definately rent the house, or a part of it if it is big enough for you plus more, and I would get on with that now without any delay.
Next, you really have to get working full time, again I know easier said than done but broadening yourself out is the key. You said you work 4 nights a week, are these fixed nights or are they on a rota? If they are fixed, then perhaps a route which hasnt been mentioned on here yet is to try to get into another supermarket doing the same thing for the spare nights (im thinking short term solution to get your wages up, which combined with rent may just get you into repaying the debts rather than spending more per month than you earn).
If not, what about looking into other areas where there are night workers? Print companies normally have packers which work through the night and do not require experience for example. Another thing you could look at doing is cleaning offices on your way home from Tescos. The guy who cleans our offices does exactly that, works full time on nights, then comes here to clean for an hour a day.
Have you joined all of the agencies now? If you have and have heard nothing, call around them. Get yourself known by them and when opportunities come up they are more likely to think of you than Joe Bloggs.
What other industries are there in Kings Lynn? Where else can you get to from there?0 -
Thinking that through if you wanted to stay at home and get a nerdy quiet couple of kids in, you could get some money in still a month? Lol, I have a little boffin myself, although she is not overly quiet!, but as she's mine i can't evict her for occasional bouts of noise!0

There are a lot of new things in Kings Lynn , but I don't think that they would pay the £6+ an hour, if the tesco days are set days I would be inclined to try and get another part time job for a little while as there will be seasonal work this time of year.0

LOL @ Queen
that would be rather unfair wouldn't it.
i am already signed up to all the agencys and have been for months, and i also call them every monday morning without fail to see if anything has come in, unfortunalty business seems slow as i haven't ever gotten a placement through them.
I can in theory get anywhere from here, i have a good reliable car and don't mind driving at all... it comes down to benifits of the position over outlay of getting there etc then. i have applied for a couple of cleaners job but had no luck as yet, like you say it would be ideal to just have as a continuation to my tesco's position..which by the way is fixed nights.
as regards to renting out just the room, the average price per room is £60 per week here. however doing this means i lose my single persons council tax benifit and i have a total short fall at present of just under £250 per month on normal outgoings, thats without touching my debt.
industrys in k/l...mmmm it's mainly a factory industry really, lots of cut backs have been made in the past few years also as regards to shift numbers, other than that theres a couple of large wood yards due to the king's lynn docks and that really is about it, we have lots of car garages and autofactors although they never seem to have any vacancies when i look, not sure if thats just bad timing or what.0 -

Lodgers still have to pay bills. You can charge the 25% discount to the lodger. Plus half the gas/electrib/water bill.0 -
this is true...will have to double check but i'm sure most places are advertising a single room for £60 a week all inclusive. i could get a double bed in here just with room enough to move, not sure the house would cope very well with 3 people in it though it's not exactly the largest of places...will double check that figure but like i say i am almost certain it's £60 all inclusive0

GO FOR IT! Do it today....go on...0

if i were to add the discount on top, plus bills it would come to around £75.00 a week excluding food and telephone which they would have to pay themselves0
-
just doing some sums, if i was able to get that kind of money for the room as a single, i would then be in a plus sign and have money available for my creditors... approx £129 to spend between 4 creditors... on a pro rata basis that would be £32.25 each0

The thing that is becoming apparent is that you have OPTOINS, and it appears lots of them. The thing with debt, is that is seems to cut down your options, but there are always some if you look hard enough.
What are you going to do? Sell, rent, lodger etc etc. Decisions, decisions.
I can't believe you are finding it hard to get another part time job at the moment. Christmas tree seller... There are loads of xmas related jobs advertised round my way.
Good Luck with all the decisions.
Oh... AND DON'T HANG AROUND ... Make the decision then go for it.0
