Help to identify sockets on UPS - 3-pin but smaller than UK

Hello,
Would appreciate your advice on this one as I'm no electrician
I have a Belkin Regulator 1500VA UPS here, which I purchased a while ago. Now I'm coming to set it up, I've realised that it must be the European model, as the AC outlets on the back are certainly not standard UK ones.
To describe, the sockets on the back are smaller than standard UK sockets. There are holes for 3 pins, that are rectangular in shape and spaced much closer together than pins on UK plugs.
Are these EU sockets or something else? And if we can determine what plugs they take, can anyone recommend a good UK 3 pin to whatever plugs these sockets take converter? I want to use this UPS, and am not able to return it at this late stage.
Thanks for your help.
H.

Commonly known as a kettle socket, very common with UPS.

You'll have to post a pic for a positive ID, but I suspect that they might be IEC chassis plugs requiring IEC lead sockets - you need the an end which will plug into a standard IEC kettle lead. Google on iEC lead. After the uprising of the 17th June The Secretary of the Writers Union

Had forfeited the confidence of the government And could win it back only

Hi, thanks.
Just to be sure as I can't really see the picture, this has a male 3-pin computer socket on one end and a female AC socket (like the ones on standard AC extension lead) on the other?
Sorry!

Your UPS look something like this with these connectors in the back?
http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=120911#
I'm not sure where, but I have seen a lead that will plug into the ups, but the other end has a UK 3 pin socket like you get on the end of a uk extension lead, then folks simply plug a power strip into that and run their computer and monitors etc off the one ups output.Hope for the best.....Plan for the worst!

Thanks, will take a look at both of those.

Hi,
Sorry to keep on at this, but as I can't see the picture I'm still unclear and the product descriptionis also not 100% clear:
Am I right in thinking for this cable CC1000AED06:
A. One end has a normal AC socket, the type you plug almost any normal electronics device with an AC plug into?
B. The other end has a connector with pins, that is the same as the port that you find on the back of your computer, the back of your kettle, etc?
So, to clarify things, I could, if I so wanted, plug the computer end of a normal computer AC cord, or the kettle end of a kettle's cable into one end of this Belkin cable?
Thanks.

OK try this

Normally the end with the pins goes into you UPS and the kettle end, same shape but with holes/slots connects to you computer's PSU, also to your monitors. Problem for us in the UK possibly elsewhere is that monitors now dont have a socket like this. I have one with and 2 without.Hope for the best.....Plan for the worst!

Hello,
It's been a while but I wanted to update everyone on what was happening here in case it's of help to others.
I ended up purchasing the Belkin part mentioned by the member above, however unfortunately this was completely the wrong one. It was for connecting the socket on the back of computers and monitors to the UPS as opposed to 3-pin UK plugs to the UPS (in the same way as you'd connect a normal home gadget (like an electric alarm clock) to the wall). So, needless to say I'll be trying to sell these on eBay (they've never been used but one was opened). That's the trouble with being partially sighted, often things aren't explained very well by the manufacturers, and the Belkin site was misleading on this point.
Anyway, I contacted Belkin directly and they have generously agreed to ship me the correct part, which is sadly now ex-manufacture. It sounds like they're sending me what amounts to a 4-gang AC extension lead which connects to the UPs, and sounds like exactly what I need.
Thanks to everyone above who helped me with this, even if we didn't get there the first time it looks like I might finally have full use of my UPS soon.
BTW, if anyone from Belkin is reading this, it might be an idea to start another line of cables for just this contingency. It's not unthinkable that people have bought this model either in error, or deliberately, but nevertheless want to connect regular AC devices to the unit without investing in a whole new UPS just for one device. Also, please could you make the descriptions of some of your smaller products a little more user-friendly for those who can't see the pictures?Know me for who I am, not for who I say I am.0
