Interesting Natwest chrages story!

Not only are they happily charging people too much but now they are trying to refund people too little!! Saw this story today but not at all surprised!

  • Well, as I read that report, Natwest say "the Bank took the decision to refund these charges including the interest that these incurred, the total of which has been refunded in full".

Reading the statement from Claims Financial, they apparently don't want their client to pay "a fair charge", they actually want him to pay no charge and were looking for a full refund plus interest.

I don't fully understand the figures and understand how journalists have a tendency to mould the truth into what they want, but my underlying feeling is that it's immoral for someone to claim charge levels are unfair, and then try to claim the whole charge back!
A spokesman for NatWest said: "The charges applied to Mr Jones account were a result of missed and late payments. In this individual case, the Bank took the decision to refund these charges including the interest that these incurred, the total of which has been refunded in full to Mr Jones' account."

"Unfortunately, Mr Jones has chosen to take this reimbursement to his account as a means to cover the required monthly minimum payment."
I don't fully understand that last bit though.
You've never seen me, but I've been here all along - watching and learning...
