well this will prove what an undomestic goddess I am!
I bought veggie sausages on 28th October best before 1st November and put them straight in the freezer compartment of my fridge.
Can I take them out today defrost them in fridge and eat them tomorrow or will I die?
Really clueless about freezing stuff.
thank you everyone and please don't laugh too much

Look at the * rating on your freezer compartment and compare to the * rating on the packet...will give you a rough idea!! Also food stores well frozen so grab those reduced price bargains and freeze them...goes for bread, meat and so on.....will save you a packet!
Your sausages should be fine for a couple of months in the freezer!!Happy to be Debt Free!!!0 -
No you won't die
They'll be fine.

you will be absolutly fine esp as there is no meat in them.

The usual rules apply, defrost thoroughly and then cook thoroughly too.
If you work out your dates you can consider that while in the freezer for a short time their age date stopped because they are frozen solid, so they are more or less stuck at the 28th Oct, if you see what I mean?
Then you only need to add one day to their date while they defrost so in effect they'll now be at the 29th October which is still inside their due date.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. If they're Linda McCartney or Quorn, you can cook from frozen.
If not, ignore me0 -
I eat things that have been in the freezer for about 3 years and I'm still alive.
Test them on OH first though!I haven't got one!0 -
