in Credit cards
Hi All :j
I was wondering if anyone can help me. I've just taken out a new virgin card for the 0% balance transfer, got the balance transferred, and the direct debit has gone out for the minimum payment at the same time as the transfer... leaving my original card £45 in credit (ie i have + £45 on there rather than the usual minus figure on a CC). Is there any way of getting this money back?
Apologies if this is a stupid question or has been asked loads before... I couldnt think how to search for it without using the words 'in credit', which obviously brings up just about every post in this forum

Not a stupid question at all. You should be able to phone the Card Provider concerned and request a refund, this can be direct into your Bank Account or sometimes they prefer to issue a cheque.0

I had a credit on Nationwide CC, they would only issue a cheque, wouldn't pay back into the account they took the D/D from.
been a week now and still waiting for the cheque....2007 £1749
2008 £291.99
2009 JanMasscara £7.00 Feb megcabot books x 2 £20 XFactor tkts x 2 £58.00 (couldn't go though as they only phoned on day :-( ) foundation £7.99
total so far for 09 £92.990 -
Simple as that, done already. Thanks very much NickX

Customer Services probably passed the details on to the back office to do which might be in a different location. It might take a bit longer. I'm surprised they wouldn't do a BACS though.0 -
I know the OP has now got a refund, but you could of course just spend that amount on the card if any other way is too much of a faff.0

true, I wasn't thinking very clearly about it while half asleep and it didnt occur to me that using the credit up wouldnt accrue interest which is why i dont normally use the card :rolleyes:0
