I finally spoke to the Coop today about the PPI they sold me. I wrote and explained that although I am technically employed, the company that employs me is my own and therefore I wouldn't make myself redundant. Also I am covered by critical illness cover and so wouldn't make a claim in that instant. They weren't having any of it and said that I hadn't read the terms and conditions properly. They offered to consolidate the loans without the insurance, but wouldn't refund what I have already paid. I asked them to look again as I wasn't happy but did I do the right thing? Should I continue to claim misselling, or do I cave in and refinance without the insurance? Any advice would be appreciated....0

Write write and write again until your satisfied with the outcome.
Dont give up without a fight !
I was told on several occasions they wouldnt cancel it, so I asked again - and again.
Then I complained - Then I complained some more and hey presto.

Thanks for this. I have only written once and had a long phone call this morning. I told them I wasn't happy with the response and they said they would talk to other people at the bank and come back to me. I guess I am in for the long haul! :rolleyes:0

Its always better in writing.
I found ringing them up a waste of time. I got a different person each time and they just fobbed me off every time.
I only got results through writing.Debt at highest £16k+

Hi, could anybody post an example letter to send to my bank regarding canceling my PPIs?
I'm not sure what to put to be honest!0 -
My mum has PPI on two credit cards which she didnt realise she had signed up for (she never reads the small print!). Can she simply ring them and ask to cancel it or will she have to fight to have it cancelled?0
