Does any one know if a basic bank account can be setup as a joint account?

Yes it can but if you have financial problems it MAY be better if you hold sole accounts.0

The reason for asking was my OH wants to get her wages paid into the account as well so both our incomes are together, but you are saying it might be better to have seperate accounts? All the debt is in my name, thats the reason for actually opening the account0

If you have a poor credit rating and she doesn’t, then you could potentially negatively impact on her credit score as you will become financially associated, and when she has a credit check on her your history could be taken into consideration along with hers.0

Thanks DanDan123, we are already have a joint current account with barclays, so isn't she finacally associated with me anyway? Not too worried about the credit score as currently looking to get a DMP or IVA, depending on what my options are with National Debtline0
