I completed and got the keys today, I have a licence to stay on in this house until next friday so we have a week to move across.

I'm glad its not me trying to sell this house now, theres been one viewing in the two months since persimmon agreed to take it as part ex and started marketing it, and its the cheapest house of its type around here by a few grand.

:T Congratulations on your new home! :T

14 more days for me ......

    Excellent news.

I was dead excited today when I got the keys, I just wandered around the house opening cupboards and turning things on and off for ages like a loony, I've moved a few times before but this is my first new build and I've never been this excited about moving, mostly because its like a blank canvas with no traces of previous occupants I think.

You're on the final countdown so not long now...

Completely off at a tangent here, but are there any photos of completed houses?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
  • Afraid no pictures of completed builds

I only ask because the entrance door in the website picture looks out of place, rather like it's been added as an after-thought. I wondered if it looks better in the flesh? It's only a thought, but the look of the property even if it doesn't bother you matters when you come to sell one day.

  • Hi folks

Just a quick update, we went to look at the house and it no way worth £175k - it was very small inside. Sales woman gave us the usual patter, saying they had reduced it from £200k but cant belive that.
So we then went to look at a new Persimmon development where they have a 3 bed detached for £159950. The homes are built and they have two which are on an assisted move - however, both homes have been on the scheme for 2 months and they are seling these properties again this week. Apparently the other owners have a 4 bed and a 3 bed old terrace and are downsizing. We have said we would be interested, but what should we offer? We really love the house and can see us living there but need it to be reduced to around £150k so we can port our mortgage. My concern is that we could risk loosing it if we go in to low. We are going on the assisted move scheme but they said we are in a better position as we have a 2 bed newish home.

No-one is buying in this market, you've got virtually no competition. Go in as low as you can while keeping a straight face.
