of the "Chop Socky Chooks" competition
CARTOON NETWORK
From 03/09/08 - 26/09/08
SECTION 1
Turner Entertainment Networks International Limited (T.E.N.I.L.), a Limited Liability Company, which has its registered office at Turner House, 16 Great Marlborough Street, London W1F 7HS, United Kingdom, registered as company number 2803512, which produces the Cartoon Network channel in the UK (hereinafter called collectively Cartoon Network), is holding a competition entitled “Chop Socky Chooks” from 03/09/08 - 26/09/08 on its website www.cartoonnetwork.co.uk (“the Site”).
HOW CAN YOU PARTICIPATE?
SECTION 2
This competition is open to any individual residing in the UK with the exception of employees of the Cartoon Network and any other companies of persons connected with this competition or members of their families.
Players under the age of 16 must have their parents’ consent to enter. By entering this competition you confirm that you have obtained any such consent and that you agree to be bound by these Rules.
SECTION 3
Players may take part in the competition directly on line on the Site only. A participant only has to give his or her e-mail address and his or her answer to enter.
The same player has the right to play several times to increase his or her chances of winning provided that each individual will only be eligible to be considered as a winner once and once picked as a winner no further entries from that individual will be considered.
By entering this competition you confirm that all information given by you is complete and accurate and not misleading. Cartoon Network reserves the right to refuse the award of the prize, or participation in the competition, to anyone who has given inaccurate or incomplete information upon entering.
SECTION 4
In order to take part in the competition, players have to answer a question:

Players’ answers and e-mail address must be entered on the Site before the deadline of 26/09/2008 11.59 p.m.
Any answer that is incorrect, incomplete, indecipherable and/or is entered after the participation deadline will be considered void. Cartoon Network does not accept any responsibility for entries lost or delayed in transmission for any reason.
The winners will be selected by Cartoon Network from those players who answered the question correctly. Cartoon Network is not responsible for any players connectivity, failure to connect or delay in connection.
Cartoon Network’s decision shall be final and no correspondence shall be entered into.
THE WINNERS
SECTION 6
5 winners will each receive a JD Sports Voucher worth £200
SECTION 7
The prize must be accepted as is, and may not be transferred or refunded, or exchanged for another article or for a cash value.
It is explicitly agreed that if the prize is awarded to a minor, the prize will be delivered to his or her statutory representative or guardian or to the winner with the written consent of his or her statutory representative or guardian.
SECTION 8
Notice of the win will be sent to the winner by e-mail within one week of the end of the competition.
The winner must confirm his or her willingness to receive the prize within a period of one month from the date of such email, giving his or her name and postal address for the delivery of the prize or the prize will be forfeited.
SECTION 9
The prizes will be dispatched within a period of a maximum of sixty (60) days to the postal address stated by the winner in his/her confirming e-mail. Unless indicated to the contrary, any shipping costs for the prize will be borne by the Cartoon Network.
- - It is expressly stipulated that the organiser may, however, cancel the winning of a prize at its sole discretion and without prior notice if the shipping of the prize to the address stated by the winner is unsuccessful, and the organiser fails to obtain the necessary information to deliver the prize successfully following reasonable efforts.
In this case, the organiser will consider itself obliged to cancel the prize, without the person concerned becoming entitled to any compensation as a result.
In any event Cartoon Network reserves the right disqualify any player from this competition or to refuse to award any prize in the event that it finds, in its sole discretion, that the player has breached any of these Rules, has provided any inaccurate or untrue information or has otherwise acted in an un-sportsmanlike or disruptive manner or in violation of the law.
SECTION 10
The information provided by players is intended solely for use by the Cartoon Network and companies directly affiliated with it (parent company and/or subsidiaries), and will not be passed on to other third parties under any circumstances.
This information will be used solely for the shipping of the prize.
In accordance with the relevant data protection legislation in force in the UK (including without limitation the Data Protection Act 1998), Cartoon Network is registered to process personal data in accordance with these Rules. Players will have access to information relating to their personal data, and may change or remove such data at any time by writing to Web competition, Turner House, 16 Great Marlborough Street, London, W1F 7HS.
The Cartoon Network guarantees that all information whose removal is requested will actually be removed.
OUR LIABILITY
SECTION 11
Cartoon Network does not accept liability for any problems in the operation of the Internet which may affect the running of the competition (any game included in it) or the reception or recognition of online entries in the competition, response times or loading times. Likewise, Cartoon Network cannot guarantee that the Site or all or part of the competition (including any game) will operate without interruption, that it does not contain IT faults, or that faults identified will be remedied; nor can it guarantee that the Site, the servers providing access to it and/or sites of third parties or partners with links on the Site do not contain viruses or other components which may cause damage to players’ computer equipment. Cartoon Network will not accept liability in any event for the loss of or damage to players’ equipment, or for any direct or indirect damage of any nature (material, financial or other) occurring as a result of the player's participation in the competition (including any game) offered on the Site or otherwise in connection with this competition. Cartoon Network does not accept any responsibility for damages, losses or injuries that result from the acceptance or use of any prizes.
For the avoidance of doubt, Cartoon Network does not exclude its liability for death or personal injury caused by its own negligence.
Players’ participation in the competition is subject to acceptance of this condition. No complaints will be accepted by the organiser on account of this section.
Cartoon Network reserves the right to shorten, defer, alter or cancel the competition and/or these Rules (including without limitation the prizes offered) if it considers in its sole discretion that circumstances demand it; it cannot be made liable for this on any grounds whatsoever.
GENERAL POINTS
SECTION 12
Any dispute or complaint concerning this competition will only be considered within a period of 90 days from the close of the competition. Such complaints should be addressed to Web competition, Turner House, 16 Great Marlborough Street, London, W1F 7HS
SECTION 13

SECTION 14
These rules are subject to the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute relating to their interpretation or execution will be brought before the competent English courts in the event that efforts to reach a prior amicable settlement with the Cartoon Network break down.
