EDF Small print

Hi,
I'm new to this chat forum so please excuse me if I don't explain myself very well.

I have been looking at my energy use over the past year and checking the small print on my EDF energy bill. I am a little confused as to when they are 'supposed' to inform me of any increases. According to their small print they only have to inform me up to 65 days after the increase... I then have 14 days to reply if i wish to change supplier... and if i chose a new supplier they have 28 days to make the changeover before EDF can charge me the new price for the whole of the period (since the increase date).

I also calculated that my bill comes every 91 days.

So if EDF aren't obliged to inform me of the increase for 65 days after the increase and I have to change supplier within 28 days of the notification... thats 93 days (65+28). Also... if the increase is... say 10 days after my last bill (which it always is)... this would surely reduce the time I have to find a new supplier before my next bill is due.

Does this mean that EDF have me over a barrel? Or have i misread the small print?

I hope someone understands this message and if they do, they can maybe point me in the right direction.

But if you disagree and change then they have to honour the previous price - it is only if you decide to stay that you pay the higher tariff for those 60-90 days, surely?

More worrying (for some) is that you can not claim pro-rata non-Direct Debit surcharges that have been made even when you have been paying by DD.
