Ready to exchange tomorrow on our purchase, reposession, and our sale (FTB) with completion next week and then found out that C&G (mortgagees) are saying the house needs to be advertised again - it has only been advertised once and then had repo notice. This will delay exchange till 15th Sep at earliest. Aaaarg!! Anyone been through this of heard of similar? I understood every day of delays costs more money to the orignal owner so can't believe they are doing this to us, esp as we have already gone past the original 28 day deadline....

Other posters are telling you to keep your offer as it is. Well, I say slash your offer by 15%. If you don't get this place, a better one will come along in 6 months time for the same price. And don't underestimate the satisfaction you will derive from revising your offer downwards to these time wasting weasels.

Incisor - thank you for thaking the time to reply however I think I am not going to risk loosing the house. As far as I am aware the advert going in is at the asking price (the repo notice has already been advertised), and the day after the adert I can purchase the house - so fingers crossed!

    Thanks all for your thoughts

Complete your SALE now at any cost.

Move your stuff into storage, book a room at a cheap B&B, (most will do deals if you are staying more than a few days) and SELL YOUR HOUSE NOW.

If you make your buyer wait their is a chance they could open a paper or turn the TV on or come on MSE and ask for advice and find out that it is the WORST TIME IN HISTORY TO BE A FIRST TIME BUYER.

They might even get temted by the governments stupid new "loan you 30%" sceme and choose to buy a new build!

Complete your sale now, DO NOT DELAY.
Bankruptcy isn't the worst that can happen to you. The worst that can happen is your forced to live the rest of your life in abject poverty trying to repay the debts.
