Firefox Crash!!!

I have been unable to use firefox for a week and installed 3 years ago. When I try to open a message asks whether I want to restore or start new session.Whichever I choose the programme closes when I attempt to access more than the first page of a programme and a message appears asking me to send a crash report which I have 4 times. I have uninstalled and installed but no difference so I am now using Internet Explorer. Please can anyone help?

When you say you've uninstalled and reinstalled, I assume you didn't touch your 'profile.'
Start it in "Safe Mode" (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode) and see if that 'solves' the problem. If so, it sounds like there's something in your profile that's causing the crash (possibly an addon.)
Restart FF normally, disable all your addons, then shut down FF and restart - see if it still crashes. If not, it's an add on to blame - reinstall/enable them at will to find out which it might be.
If disabling all addons won't work, you will need to create a new profile and move bits from your old profile a bit at a time. (bookmarks, passwords etc.) - see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_FirefoxConjugating the verb 'to be":
