Hi: I'm am going to uninstall Norton (using the Norton removal tool etc) but need to know whether I should install another AV programme before uninstalling Norton. Ive seen other posts where they recommend saving the new AV to the desktop before uninstalling Norton. What should I do?

Have your new anti virus downloaded and ready and waiting on your desktop.
Once you have fully removed Nortons install your new anti virus software and update.
This way you are not online whilst unprotected0 -
Thanks RS. will do.Tact: getting your point across without stabbing someone0

oh for gods sake! Dont fall for the media hype over the 'internet threat'. Dont panic over not having anti-virus software on your machine for a few minutes. Take my example: 3 PCs, NO antivirus software for 3 years on each...NO VIRUSES! NONE AT ALL! NOT ONE!0

Yeah, thanks for your input.0

My post is getting a bit old now and have not tested the process in quite a while but it may interest you as Norton is not that easy to remove.
And I have never tested it with VISTA.
Removing Norton
And never install two antivirus programs always remove one before installing another.0
