How can I make some extra money quickly?

I need the car to get to work and to drop my son off at nursery on the way there. It's isolating enough being a single parent - I would be totally cut off without my car! So thanks for the suggestion but it's just not practical.
How about a spot of babysitting/childminding?
As teenagers my sister and I used to babysit for a number of local families. If they all wanted to go out on the same night, obviously we couldn't be in several different places at once. We'd both go to the same house, and all the families would bring their children round and we'd look after something like 8 children (under the age of 8!). Each family paid us for a couple of hours' work, with the 'host' family paying the majority. I think between us one night we made something like £70 (and that was around 10 years ago).
Do you know any other single parents who might want a night out but can't find a babysitter they'd trust? You could even keep the children overnight – depending on their ages, it could be like a sleepover for your own child.

It's not going to bring in money this month because of copy lead times, but if you start now, writing one thing a week, you'll have a steady flow of extra cash in the months ahead. No need to buy the mags - just take down the details from WH Smith. You can usually email your contribution, so it costs nothing.
What a fantastic idea! I'm going to try that one myself! :TExtra Payment Every Week Challenge:

Ebay!! Just look for any old clothes/items there is always someone out there wanting it, also I always do car boot sales - excellent way to make a quick £
I have to agree with poshy; it is surprising - what seems like 'rubbish' to you, may be perfect for somebody else! Hubby and I recently had a clear out of a few bits of clothes that were heading to the charity shop but thought we'd give them a go on ebay first - after fees and postage we made about £20! not a lot, but when you're skint, every penny counts
would love to do a car boot, but isn't it / near the end of season?0 -
